A slava (Glory) split second stopwatch with central thirthy-minute register velcro strip on back of case, original carrying pouch lettered CexytsnoMcp stopwatch)

This stopwatch was used by Beregovoy for timing various scientific technical and microbiological experiments during Soyuz 3, The flight was also essentialy a shakedown for the watch to see if it would remain functional in weightlessness and during heavy gravity overloads. The stopwatch did perform accurately and other models of this brand were used on many subsequent Soyuz Missions.

Soyuz 10 23-25 April 1971

Watch worn by Shatalov on Soyuz 10 milsion.

A SEKONDA chronqgraph wristwatch 19 jewels outer ring calibrated for tachometer, two subsidiary dials for constant seconds and 45-minute register mechanical, stainless steel, leather wrist strap

In an accompanying autograph note, Gen. Shatalov describes this as a test watch.

During earlier missions, ordinary-production watches were used by thc cosmonauts, but the stresses of flight-changing air presure and high G-forces caused frequent failures.

The cosrmonauts tiipically took three or four watches with them, in the hope of having a serviceable backup.

The present SEKONDA watch was a special production, intended to be of greater reliability. Because there was not suflicient demand for these higher-quality watches, the Soviets subsequently purchased Swiss-made Omega watches for the cosmonauts.

Soyuz 10 was an important but not entirely succesful mission. lt was the first mission to the Salyut 1 space station, which had been launchcd l9 April. Shatalov as comabdcr, with crew members Aleksey Yeliseyev and Nikolai Rukavishnikov, was able to dock with Salyut.l, but the docking hatch of sOYUZ 10 failed to open, and no transfer of crew into the station was possible. In June, Soyuz 11 docked successfully with Salyut 1, and its crew carried out a 24 day mission, but on reentry they were tragicaly killed when an air valve on the return module opened improperly, causing them to lose a air presure and plunge into vacuum, Shordy thereafter Gen. Nikolai Kamanin was removed from command of the cosmonaut corps and replaced by Shatalov.

Soyuz T-5 13 May -10 December 1982

The stopwatch used by Berezovoy on the Soyuz ferry crafts and Salyut orbital station.

A Soviet made “Agat” (Arar: Agat€) split second stopwatch, central thirty minute register, elastic tie; original shaped grey composition container. Indistinctly signed on back by Berezovoy. Accompanied by an autograph document in Russian si$ed by Berezovoy.

Berezovoy would have used this watch onboard Salyut for any number of scientific experiments-it would have been indispensable in the event of an emergency manual docking of the Soyuz craft with the space station. In the accompanying document Berezovoy attests to the continuing accuracy and reliability of the instrument.

Soyuz T-5 13 May-10 December 1982

The altimeter used by Berezovoy during the landing of Soyuz T-7.

A Soviet made altimeter, adjustable ribbed outer ring calibrated for one 1000 meters inner dial calibrated fol kilometers, face lettered CAETIAHO B CCCIO (made in the USSR), outer ring of and casing of black compositor suede baking SIGNED By BEREzovoy, elastic wristband.

Accompanied by an autograph document signed by Berezovoy.

Adopted as part of standard gear with Beregovoy’s flight on Soyuz 3 (1968), the altimeter, whose value depends on barometric pressure, is used to determine the altitude of the descent moddle during reentry so that the cosmonauts can gauge the landing sequence of retrofire, parachute deplolyment, and landing-rocket fire. The landing rockets were designed to fire when the capsule was two meters above the ground but if they failed, the landing could be very traumatic (Soviet missions land on the ground rather than in water as in the U.S. program).

The altimeter is worn on the left sleeve along side the cosmonauts “Polyot” watch. Berczovoy’s landing took place at 1 AM making a visual assessment of the altitude before landing impossible. He prepared for the estimated time of landing. according to the altitude propos€d by ground control before radio blackout.

T-5 13 May-10 December 1982

The watch worn by Berezovoy during his mission A Polyjot (rlorer: “Flight”) chronograph wristwatch, 23-jewels, subsidiary dials for constant seconds and 3o-minute register, date calendar at bottom, outer ring allowing for adjustment to monitor second time zone, mechanical, stainless steel, partially illuminated face, elastic band signed by Berezovo, back of watch face bearing a cancellation stamp of Salyut-7 Minor scratch to crystal, wristband soiled Original box covered in textured lavender paper. Accompanied by an autograph document signed by Berezovoy.

Berezovoy wore this “Flight” watch whenever he was in his pressure suit. ln the event that the on board docks failed he would have used it for manual calculations of launch, descent sequencing and dockings. The watch was kept on Moscow time and spent a total of 211 days in space.

Soyuz TM-7/Soyuz TM-8, 26 November 1988-19 February 1990

The watch left on Mir by the Soviet-French crew of Soyuz TM-7 and returned to earth by Serebrov aboard Soyuz. TM-8.

A YEMA qudtz chonogmph wiswatch, rhe face depicting the flags of the Soviet Union and France, three subsidiary dials for constant seconds and 30-minule and l0-hour registers, calendar with bilingual day dd date, calibrated for tachometer, bezel stamped SPATIONAUTE III, case inscribed Vol longue duree Aragatz CCCP France and numbered 07, original Velcro bracelet lettered YEMA.

This watch is one of a small number made to commemorate the flight of Soyuz. TM-7 the third space mission that included a French participant. Jean-Loup Chretien became the first Frenchman in space, and the first guest cosmonaut from a Western democracy, when he flew to Salyut 7 aboard Soyuz T-6 in June 1982. In May 1985, Patrick Baudry became the first “spationaut” to fly aboard a United States space mission, spending eight dais on the shuttle Discovery. In 1990, Chretien was again selected for an Interkosmos fight, and eslablished a duration record for non-Soviet cosmonauts of twenty-five consecutive days at a Soviet space station.Chretien also became the first non-Soviet, non-American to spacewalk, when he and Aleksandr Volkov performed an EVA to deploy an Enchantillom space exposure device on the outside of Mir.

The present watch is one of perhaps eight of this design flown in space. Chretien would have worn one, and examples would also have been even to his fellow cosmonauts on Soyuz TM 7, Aleksandr Volkov and Sergei Krikalev. Three others were probably taken as gifts for the cosmonauts then on Mir Vladimir Titov and Musa Manamov of Soyuz TM-4 (with whom Chretien returned to earth), and Valeri Polyakov of Soyuz TM-6 (who remained on Mir with Volkov and Krikalev). The final two nown watches, numbers 07 and, presumably, 08 were left at the station for the crew of Soyuz TM-8 which was scheduled to relieve the long-duration crew of the Soviet-French TM 7 mission in April 1989. That scheduled blast-off was postponed, however, and the long-duration crew left the station on 27 April 1989.

These final two Spationaute III watches evidently remained on Mir while it remained unmanned until the arrival on 5 September of Aleksandr Viktorenko and Aleksandr Serebrov, the crew of rhe delayed Soyuz TM-8

IMPRESIONANTE hilo, compãnero

Por derecho ya se encuentra en nuestros Artículos de referencia en Comando Rojo : http://www.hablemosderelojes.com/forum/showthread.php?39400-Artículos-de-referencia-en-Comando-Rojo&p=470963#post470963

A ver esa información actualizandose

Aun asi, Marctibu, gracias +1

Hola.
¡¡¡¡ I M P R E S I O N A N T E !!!..
¡¡¡ Vaya currada que te has marcado compi !!!.
Me ha encantado. Un post de referencia, sin duda.
Muchas gracias y mi enhorabuena.
Un saludo.

Magnifico aporte camarada Marctibu!!
